Father is flying a kite while his little son is watching him carefully. After some time the son says, “Dad, please cut the string and free the kite. Because of the string the kite is not able to fly higher.”
Hearing this, the father breaks the string and frees the kite, with a smile!
The kid jumps up in joy seeing the kite dancing freely in the wind. Alas! To his dismay, soon the kite loses control and falls to the ground.
Holding the broken kite the child sits down, dejected.
Still with that lingering smile, the father sits down next to him and calmly explains. “Son, in life we reach a certain level of prosperity and then we feel that there are certain things in our life that are not letting us grow any further – like Home, Family, Culture Friendship etc. We feel we want to be free from those ‘strings’ that we believe are stopping us from going higher.”
“But, remember son, going higher is easier than staying at the higher level for a long period.”
Never forget to hold on to the ‘strings’ that help you grow and fly high. Never forget that family, teachers, friends and culture are the strings that will help us climb the ladder of success and continue to stay stable at the heights we have achieved. Though we might feel they aren’t significant anymore in our life, if we break away from those strings, our condition will be similar to that of the fallen kite.
